Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 Motherboard Drivers For Windows 8
Forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=16738.0I run into a similar problem as the above personThis is the load down:Last mth., I bought Intel 540p 240GB m.2 SSD, and it works seamlessly on win 7 with Gigabyte B150M-D3H motherboard. So I thought let's buy the 600p as it's faster.Today, I use the H170M-D3H DDR3 motherboard, and I only have 1 drive. Like the guy on the 1st link, under Win 7, 64 bit, the motherboard can see the drive, but windows 7 says drive not found- updating the BIOS doesn't work- changing the setting to UEFI only doesn't work- the motherboard see it's a NVMe drive, but win 7 just keep saying drive not foundany suggestion?on unrelated issues, for those who uses Asus motherboard, under win 7, 64 bit, w/ legacy mode setup. If I were to upgrade to these M.2 600p SSD1) do you expect the same thing? Win 7 can't see the drive2) Say win 7, 64 bit can't see it as the boot drive, can we buy this:and get it to recognize by win 7 as a secondary drive without any problem.
Omegatotal, thank you for such useful information. I don't have time for that on ea. I switch over to the Intel 540p that c/w B&M key, the new PC immediately see the drive, and I installed win 7 in about 7 min. 150 windows update usually takes 3 hr., w/ the 540p, it's only about 1 hr.
So, the 540p is fast enough for me.Someone from another thread told me that as a secondary drive though, win 7 can see NVMe M.2 drive if there is a driver:but I have check and re-check the intel download center, for the 600p series (come out after the above link), there is no driver. So I now wonder even as a secondary drive, it won't work. So it looks like I'm stuck w/ 540p drive on M.2 mini card.Look at it this way, Intel is releasing 3D Xpoint next year, in which they claim to be 1000 times faster than today's SSD. So why bother waste time to fig. Out how to setup the 600p.
